Loss of an Eagle, Raise of a Phoenix

I knew time was coming
I heard it whispered in my ear
I braved the comment and didn’t look on with concern
There weren’t many I could tell and the ones I could I’m not sure they understood
Death ain’t a thing easily understood by the living
We grin and grimace like we do
We know we born to die
Yet we fight it hand, tooth and foot when it comes
I myself made peace with it when I saw your peace with it
I understood too but I didn’t
I heard you whisper ‘It’s God’s will’ as the phone hung up
I stared across the horizon looking for an answer to a question I still don’t know the words for
I was at attention but I didn’t hear any words
Too many background thoughts in the way
I went home and I paced
What do you do when there’s nothing you can do
You knew your child needed me
And I knew when God’s called action would appear
So I packed I ain’t had ish clean but I packed anyway
Momma was gone in body but not in spirit
And the vessel was needed for an assignment
Like a solider waiting for his instructions
The plan had already been made
I grabbed my Bible and put it on my front seat
He gone save some lives with this
Use me as you see fit, allow the greatest good to come from this

Thought of the Day

Being in a relationship can be hard because you have to face a part of yourself that you may not know exist.

I didn’t know I was capable of deeply hurting a person I loved until after the choices were made.

Facing a person in pain is a memorable and immobilizing experience that has the potential to create regret or change. For me focusing on change has created more avenues.

Faery Cards of Day

Some days I randomly pull from the deck to see what comes up. Other times I ask a specific question. At this time I’ve been trying to make a decision about whether to move out-of-state. There is a lot to consider. I think sometimes people can get caught living in the past or future and lose focus on enjoying the present. At the end of the day the decision will become clear so I asked the question on how to live in the present at this moment. Below is my interpretation of the three cards above.

What do I need to know at this moment to live in the present?

There are no regrets when you live in the moment. Living in the moment will open unexpected doors. Use your spiritual senses to see these openings. There is light where you’re going. Sometimes you need to stumble in darkness before you get to the light.

Listen to the guidance that surrounds you. There is no need for outside counsel or friendly opinions. Clear your mind and hear his (spiritual guide) words. Picture him standing next to you and mapping out your next steps.

Listen to your intuition in dark times (early in morning).
